Director and CEO

Matteo Dell’Angelo was born in Rome in 1989. His interest in cinema and photography started early. At the age of 16 he filmed his first project, a journey with his father to discover eastern Tibet. At 19, he directed and produced his first short movie, “7 mezzo al grammo,” based on a real crime story that happened in Rome. This movie was selected by the Archipelago Film Festival and nominated for the Nastri D’Argento awards. From that moment on, he has never stopped filming. In 2011 he founded the artistic collective RomeYork, with which he has produced a large number of music videos featuring some of the most famous artists in the Italian and international hip-hop

scene, such as Method Man, Redman, Onyx, Waka Flocka, Noyz Narcos, and the Wu-Tang Clan. In 2014 he started working on very different projects. He directed a 22-minute scientific documentary produced by the universities of Princeton and Indiana. The documentary “Working Together,” filmed in Kenya and the United States, was screened at international festivals and scientific conferences around the world and promoted by the National Geographic. In 2015 he returned to Tibet to document the 30 years of work of the international NGO ASIA. In that same year he began working with the great Buddhist master and professor Chögyal Namkhai Norbu, with whom he developed a series of collaborative projects that led to the foundation of the movie production company Palzom Films. With Palzom Films, of which Matteo is co-owner and artistic director, he shot, directed, and produced a number of award-winning audiovisual projects, and is now directing other artistic projects including the most recent, “Tutta la mia Città,” a documentary about homelessness in Rome during the time of Covid-19.
